The swinging sixties was on! Bryco’s founder, Bryan Snedker, at the time was working for Petter Diesel Engines in Staines, Middlesex and was involved in the supply of new and replacement diesel engines, parts and service. Towards the end of the decade Petter Engines decided to discontinue with the supply of service exchange engines so an opportunity arose and Bryco commenced trading in 1973.
The Hawker Siddely Group owned Petter Engines and Lister Engines and they were merged to become Lister Petter, to supply major OEMs across the UK such as Benford, Thwaites, Selwood Pumps, and MoD contracts to name a few, with Bryco continuing the service and supply of the engines.
In the early 1980’s Petter Refrigeration changed engine supplier from their own Petter Engines to Kubota from Japan, so in 1986 Bryco and Kubota agreed a contract where Bryco became the first Kubota engine dealer in the UK offering sales and support for the entire Kubota engine range.
Bryco today supports several other manufacturers including Kohler (formally Lombardini), Deutz, Lister Petter, Yanmar and Hatz, supplying and supporting customers over a vast and wide industrial and global base.
Bryan has long since retired but the company is now managed by his sons and daughters along with a knowledgeable, loyal and dedicated team.
Here’s to the next 50 years! With whatever challenges it may hold.
